[Archived] Beat the Heat, Refresh with a Treat While Supporting Local Kids

For Immediate Release: August 10, 2016

It’s hot outside, and what better way to refresh than joining the Fund for Alexandria’s Child (FFAC) to support kids in Alexandria on Wednesday, Aug. 17 from 4-9 p.m. at Port City Brewing Company, 3950 Wheeler Avenue, Alexandria, VA 22304.

This is the first time FFAC has collaborated on a Community Give Back event with Port City Brewing Company.

There is no admission fee, and 10 percent of all proceeds will be donated to FFAC to help local kids attend camp. Throughout the day, there will be raffle prizes, as well as food from Ada’s Kitchen on Wheels food truck.

The Fund for Alexandria's Child is made up of volunteers from all walks of life who want to make a difference in the lives of the most vulnerable children in our community. Through family service specialists at the Department of Community & Human Services, they identify children in need and enrich the lives of children in foster care and those who are most at risk of abuse and neglect by promoting community awareness, involvement and resource development.
