The Department of Recreation, Parks and Cultural Activities’ 2016 Fall Program Guide is now available online. The Program Guide highlights City classes, programs, activities, and special events occurring September through December as well as park and facility information. Printed copies are available throughout Alexandria at recreation centers, libraries and City Hall and current subscriptions will be received by mail by Friday, August 5, 2016.

Registration for Fall classes and activities begins at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, August 17 for City residents and Friday, August 19 for nonresidents. Register online, in-person or by phone at the Registration & Reservation Office located at the Lee Center at 1108 Jefferson St. The Registration & Reservation Office, a single source for information about recreation programs, facilities and reservations, is open for walk-in or phone support at 703.746.5414 from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Registration is now open for afterschool programs for the 2016-17 school year. Afterschool options and their locations are listed below:

• Power- On Program for ages 5-12:
  • John Adams Elementary School & Recreation Center, 5651 Rayburn Ave.
  • Douglas MacArthur Elementary School, 1101 Janney’s Ln.
  • Charles Barrett Recreation Center, 1115 Martha Custis Dr.
  • Charles Houston Recreation Center, 901 Wythe St.
  • Cora Kelly Recreation Center, 2510 West Reed Ave.
  • Mount Vernon Recreation Center, 2701 Commonwealth Ave.
  • Patrick Henry Recreation Center, 4625 Taney Ave.
  • William Ramsay Recreation Center, 5650 Sanger Ave.
• Power-Up Program for ages 11-14 in grades 6-8 at Francis C. Hammond Middle School, 4646 Seminary Rd.
• Youth Achieving Greatness for ages 5-12 at Nannie J. Lee Recreation Center, 1108 Jefferson St.
• Afterschool Nature Buddies for ages 5-10 at Jerome “Buddie” Ford Nature Center, 5750 Sanger Ave.

Space is still available and registration is currently being accepted for Summer Camps and Aquatics classes. Register Online Today!
