Are you concerned about
Zika, West Nile Virus or other mosquito-borne diseases? Learn about what the
City of Alexandria is doing and what you can do to “Fight the Bite!” Join the
Alexandria Health Department on the third Wednesday of each month through
October at various locations throughout Alexandria. Meeting attendees will
learn more about mosquitoes, the City’s Vector Borne Illness Program, and what
steps residents can take to protect themselves and their families. The
next meeting is Wednesday, July 20, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., at Beatley Central
Library (5005 Duke St.).
You can help minimize mosquito breeding by
eliminating standing water around your home or business, and
protect yourself from insect bites by covering up or applying repellant.
