[Archived] Park & Recreation Commission to Hold Public Hearing on NVRPA Lease Agreement & Braddock Park

The Park and Recreation Commission will hold a public hearing to receive comment on the planning process to determine the framework for future site improvements at Cameron Run Regional Park, including current and potential future amenities, and a public hearing to receive comment on the Braddock Park Concept Plan, 600 N. Henry St. The public hearings will occur on Thursday, July 21, 2016, 7 p.m., at the Alexandria Police Department Community Room, 3600 Wheeler Ave.

On Saturday, June 18, 2016, City Council held a Public Hearing on the proposed Lease Agreement between the City of Alexandria and the Northern Virginia Park Authority for Cameron Run Regional Park. Following public testimony and discussion by City Council, City Council choose to defer a decision on the proposed lease and directed staff to develop a planning process to identify future site improvements, including current and potential future amenities, and report back in the fall of 2016. All comments received by July 21 will be forwarded to the Park & Recreation Commission for consideration.
