[Archived] Park Commission NVRPA Lease Agreement Public Hearing Update

The Park and Recreation Commission will hold a public hearing to receive comment on the planning process to determine the framework for future site improvements at Cameron Run Regional Park. This framework will include current and potential future amenities. The public hearing will occur on Thursday, June 23, 2016, 7 p.m., at the Charles Houston Community Center, 901 Wythe St.

On Saturday, June 18, 2016, City Council held a Public Hearing on the proposed Lease Agreement between the City of Alexandria and the Northern Virginia Park Authority for Cameron Run Regional Park. Following public testimony and discussion by City Council, City Council choose to defer a decision on the proposed lease and directed staff to develop a planning process to identify future site improvements, including current and potential future amenities, and report back in the fall of 2016. All comments received by June 23 will be forwarded to the Park & Recreation Commission for consideration.
