[Archived] Alexandria Police Make Arrest in N. Fayette Street Homicide from 2015

Alexandria Police have charged a suspect with the homicide of Shakkan Elliot-Tibbs, who died from injuries sustained during a shooting which occurred in the 700 block of N. Fayette Street on Thursday July 2, 2015.

Rashad Lonzell Adkins, 21, of Alexandria, was charged with Murder and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon and Use of a Firearm in the Commission of a Felony. He is being held without bond in the William G. Truesdale Detention Center in Alexandria. 

“Once again, these indictments show the strong cooperation and collaboration between the police department and the Alexandria Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office.  With their assistance, the Alexandria Police Department has now closed the last remaining homicide from 2015,” said Chief of Police Earl Cook. “Our detectives continue to show their commitment to the safety of Alexandria by their persistence in removing violent suspects from our community.”
