Alexandria Beautification Commission Seeks Nominations for 2016 Alexandria Beautification Awards

The City of Alexandria’s Beautification Commission is accepting nominations for the 2016 Alexandria Beautification Awards. The awards program recognizes City residents, organizations, and businesses for their efforts in contributing to the beautification of City neighborhoods and public vistas with landscaping and aesthetic design. Nominations must be received by Friday, May 27. Nomination forms are available at the Beautification Commission website.

The 2016 Beautification Awards will be given in six categories: Excellence in Architecture, Excellence in Sustainable Design, Green Practices in Beautification, Community Beautification, Residential Beautification, and Commercial Beautification. Full descriptions of the new award categories are available on the Beautification Commission website. Award winners will be recognized at The Beautification Commission will recognize 2016 Beautification Award recipients Awards Ceremony this September.
The Alexandria Beautification Commission is a 12-member volunteer board with members nominated and approved by the City Council for two-year terms. The Commission represents residents' values in City beautification matters and coordinates projects to encourage and achieve beautification.
