[Archived] Alexandria Mentoring Partnership Celebrates 10th Anniversary with Mentor Recruitment Boat Ride

Calling all community members! The Alexandria Mentoring Partnership (AMP) is seeking inspired and invested community members to help make a difference in the lives of the City’s youth. Join AMP on Thursday, May 5, aboard the Ms. Christin for a ride on the Potomac, and learn about ways to have a positive impact in the community. Mentoring for as little as two hours a week can change the course of a child’s life – you could be the person to transform the life of another. Help celebrate 10 years of successful mentoring in the Alexandria community, and learn more about AMP’s 12 mentoring programs.

The boat ride will take place from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., beginning at the Alexandria City Marina (located at Cameron & Union Streets), with a wine and hors d’oeuvres reception. This event is free of charge; however, donations to the Alexandria Mentoring Partnership are welcome.

To RSVP, contact Lily Rowny  at lily.rowny@alexandriava.gov or 703.746.4455 by Saturday, April 30. To learn more about mentoring in Alexandria, please visit alexandriava.gov/Mentoring.

For media inquiries, contact Andrea Blackford, Senior Communications Officer, at andrea.blackford@alexandriava.gov or 703.746.3959.
