City of Alexandria Announces Spring 2016 Native Plant Sale

For Immediate Release: April 2, 2016

The Department of Recreation, Parks, and Cultural Activities, with support from the Tree Stewards of Arlington and Alexandria, is offering a native plant and shrub sale in your neighborhood to help grow Alexandria’s tree canopy. Beautify your yard and help grow Alexandria’s tree canopy by purchasing and planting a high quality native tree or shrub at home! All plants are $20. 

The following Trees and Shrubs will be available for purchase: White Oak, Scarlet Oak, American Holly, Flameleaf Sumac, Eastern Red-Cedar, Maple Leaf Viburnum, Blackhaw Viburnum, and American Sweetgum. For additional information, view the Spring 2016 City of Alexandria Tree Sale Flyer.

Place your order through May 7 online or in person at the Jerome “Buddie” Ford Nature Center, 5750 Sanger Ave. Plants will be available for pick the Jerome “Buddie” Ford Nature Center between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 21.
