of Historic Alexandria on Wednesday, January 27 from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the the Lyceum, 201 S. Washington St.for a presentation and discussion with experts in the
field of public art, history and historic house programming about how
contemporary art projects have enlivened and invigorated house museums and
historic sites. Reception to follow.
How can artists engage new audiences and enrich the visitor
experience at historic sites? How have historic sites paired compelling historical
narratives with dynamic contemporary art? How do artists collaborate with
historians, research sites and archives to create new work? How can artists
contribute to the conversation about the role of a city’s past in its future?
