For Immediate Release: October 22, 2015
The Department of Recreation, Parks and Cultural Activities will host a public meeting on Monday, November 2 at 7 p.m. at the Mount Vernon Recreation Center, 2701 Commonwealth Ave., to review and provide input on Development Site Plan (DSP) for the Mount Jefferson Park Improvements. The Park and Recreation Commission and Oakville Triangle/Route 1 Corridor Advisory Group endorsed a concept plan for the section of Mount Jefferson Park & Greenway between Raymond Ave. and Route 1 in May 2015. The City is working in conjunction with the Oakville Triangle/Route 1 Corridor planning process to develop the site plan for that section of the park.
A copy of the site plan’s landscape sheets, as well as the background on the planning process is available online at https://www.alexandriava.gov/recreation/info/default.aspx?id=83168.
Persons unable to attend may submit ideas and comments to Laura Durham, Open Space Coordinator, at laura.durham@alexandriava.gov. For additional information, call 703.746.5493 or email laura.durham@alexandriava.gov.
