Alexandria Police conducted mobile DWI enforcement effort to deter and apprehend intoxicated drivers from 8:00 P.M. on Saturday, August 29, to 5:00 A.M. on Sunday, August 30. Vehicles observed committing traffic infractions were stopped and drivers were checked to assure that their abilities to drive had not been impaired by alcohol or drugs.
During the enforcement effort, four arrests were made for Driving While Intoxicated (DWI). In addition, 40 summonses were issued for miscellaneous traffic offenses and three criminal arrests were made. Six Alexandria Police Officers participated in the enforcement effort.
