The City of Alexandria Office of the Arts invites the public to attend an Open House for the Traffic Control Box Public Art Project on Thursday, May 7 from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Beatley Central Library located at 5005 Duke St. Refreshments will be available.
Attendees will have an opportunity to learn about the project that will be installed along Duke St. between Callahan Dr. and S. Pickett St. The project will be celebrated on Sunday, May 17 and help launch Alexandria’s celebration of National Public Works Week.
The City of Alexandria Commission for the Arts has selected three artists/artist teams: Erin Curtis; Pamela Underhill & Roger Foster; and Anthony Palliparambil. Each artist/artist team will create four original designs that will be installed on the traffic control boxes.
