[Archived] Alexandria Fire Department Postpones Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony for New Station #210

For Immediate Release: April 16, 2015

The Alexandria Fire Department has postponed the ribbon-cutting ceremony for new Station #210, 5255 Eisenhower Avenue.  The event was originally scheduled for April 18, and a new date and time will be announced when the ceremony is rescheduled.  The new date will allow time for City Council to reach a conclusion as part of the budget process as to how and when to staff a fire engine at the station.

The new station, a state-of-the-art, 45,000 square foot, three-story facility, entered service on April 1 in the Eisenhower Valley.  The station currently houses a medic unit, EMS Supervisor, Field Training Officer, SCBA service center, the Fire Protection Systems Office, and outreach facilities, and will house a fire engine company in the future.
