[Archived] City of Alexandria to Host Sydney, Australia Music Tour, Tuesday, April 7

The City of Alexandria will host the Perth College & Aquinas College—Sydney Music Tour, Tuesday, April 7, 3 p.m., at Market Square, 301 King St.  Admission is free, and attendees are welcome to bring chairs or sit around the bench seating in front of City Hall.

Perth College is one of the oldest schools for girls in Western Australia from Kindergarten to Year 12 and Aquinas College educates boys from Year 4 to Year 12.  The concert will feature three ensembles, each established in 2010.  The Perth College/Aquinas College Concert Band comprises the most senior and advanced wind and percussion players of both schools and is directed by Chris Goff and Bruce Thompson.  The band was awarded Silver at the 2011 International Music Festival held at the Sydney Opera House.  The Perth College/Aquinas College Choir comprises the most senior choristers of each school, and is directed by Chris McMillan and accompanied by Emily Green-Armytage. The Perth College/Aquinas String Orchestra has performed to great acclaim in Sydney, Melbourne and throughout the Perth Community and is directed by Sarah Ellison.
