[Archived] Alexandria City Council Approves Plan for New Old Dominion Boat Club

On March 14, 2015, City Council unanimously approved the Old Dominion Boat Club's (ODBC) new building, the architecture and the design of the surrounding areas that include the parking lot and grounds.

The relocation project is part of the property transfer agreement between ODBC and the City in order to relocate the existing club house and parking lot from its current King Street location, thus opening up that site for implementation of the Waterfront Plan’s recommendation for a new public park at the foot of King Street know as Fitzgerald Square.

This is a major step towards the realization of the City’s Waterfront Plan,” said Mayor William D. Euille. “This project came about from good faith negotiations and perseverance from both parties.”
