[Archived] Police Investigate Robbery; Clerk Shot

  
The Alexandria Police Department is investigating a robbery and shooting that occurred on Sunday, October 19, 2014, at approximately 11:30 p.m. in the 700 block of N. Washington Street. 

An adult male suspect entered a gas station and demanded money from the clerk while displaying a handgun. After receiving cash the suspect shot the clerk once in the torso. The clerk, a 41 year-old male, City resident, was transported to a local hospital. He is in stable condition.


The suspect is described as a black male of average build and height.  He was last seen wearing a gray hooded-sweatshirt and jeans. The suspect was armed with a handgun. 

Anyone with information related to this incident is asked to call the Alexandria Police Department. Detectives will be canvasing the immediate area today. People who live or work in the area that have access to surveillance images should contact Sergeant Michael Kochis at 703.746.6285.
