[Archived] Addiction Recovery Month Community Celebration

Addiction Recovery Month Community Celebration Planned

Join friends, family and travelers on the road to recovery at a community celebration in honor of National Addiction Recovery Month, Wednesday, September 17, from 4 to 7 p.m., at the Lee Center, 1108 Jefferson St.

Learn about drug and alcohol abuse prevention and recovery and how to support someone entering or continuing in recovery. The celebration will include the “Art Uniting People” exhibit, barbeque, popcorn, snow cones, music, moon bounce and door prizes.

This event is sponsored by the Alexandria Department of Community and Human Services; Department of Recreation, Parks and Cultural Activities; Alexandria’s Mental Health HOPE Campaign; Friends of the Alexandria Mental Health Center; Substance Abuse Prevention Coalition of Alexandria; Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration; the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services; and Substance Abuse and Addiction Recovery Alliance of Virginia.
