On Saturday, August 9, at 11 p.m., northbound traffic on Route 1 will be detoured onto Potomac Avenue. The detoured traffic will continue north along Potomac Avenue to the intersection of Potomac Avenue and East Glebe Road, where vehicles will be directed back onto Route 1, via East Glebe Road.
This detour will allow for the modification of two Virginia Dominion Power manholes. The work is a result of the construction of the Transitway lanes, and is not associated with Dominion's proposed 230 KV line.
The northbound lanes will be reopened by 11 a.m. on Sunday, August 10.
