[Archived] Kendel Taylor Named Alexandria’s Acting Director of Finance

 City Manager Rashad M. Young has announced the appointment of Kendel Taylor as Acting Director of Finance for the City of Alexandria, effective August 1, 2014. Taylor succeeds Laura Triggs, who will now serve as a Deputy City Manager. 

"Kendel has extensive experience with the City’s financial services and operations," said City Manager Young. "I look forward to her leadership in these important areas while the search for a permanent director is conducted." 

Taylor joined the City of Alexandria 1995. She spent most of her City career in the Office of Management and Budget, including service as Acting Director in 2011 and 2012. She currently serves as the Financial Operations Engineer in the Department of Finance.

Taylor holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration and marketing, a bachelor’s degree in Spanish from Albright College in Reading, Pa., and a master’s degree in public administration from Virginia Tech. She has also served as a local government budget reviewer for the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) for more than 15 years.
