[Archived] Police Hold Critical Incident Training Exercise
On Wednesday, July 30, the Alexandria Police Department will be conducting a critical incident training exercise at Landmark Mall, located at 5801 Duke Street. The mock incident will take place from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Public safety personnel will be in the area from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
The critical incident training exercise will be centered around a mock shooting at the mall. The Department’s Special Operations Team and Hostage Negotiations Team, as well as the Alexandria Fire Department and Arlington Police Department’s Explosive Ordnance Disposal Team, SOT and HNT will be participating in the exercise.
MEDIA ADVISORY :: Police Chief Earl Cook will be available outside the mall at 10:30 a.m. for interviews and questions regarding the exercise. Media are welcome to observe the training from the Landmark Mall parking lot.
