The Alexandria Police Department is investigating a sexual battery that occurred in the 3100 block of Duke Street on Wednesday, July 23, 2014.
At approximately 2:30 p.m., police were called to the CVS Pharmacy for a man who assaulted and woman while they were both inside the pharmacy. The suspect reached underneath the skirt of an adult female and attempted to remove her underwear. Officers responded to the scene and immediately apprehended the suspect.
Abayneh Yemer, 25, of Alexandria was charged with Sexual Battery and Attempted Object Sexual Penetration. He was held without bond.
