[Archived] Department of Recreation Parks and Cultural Activities Implements Service Enhancements to Improve Customer Service

A Registration & Reservation Office is now open to provide customers with a one-stop-shop to get information about recreation programs and services; register for programs such as classes, camps and leagues; and make facility room and picnic reservations. The office is located in the Department’s Administrative Offices at the Lee Center, 1108 Jefferson St., and is open for walk-in or phone support from 8:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday. Staff are available to assist customers in both English and Spanish, with additional translation services available upon request. To register for an activity or to make a reservation, contact the Registration & Reservation Office at 703.746.5414.

The Department’s registration management system used to register customers for programs and to manage room and picnic reservations request will update on August 1.  This update  will ensure that customer household information on file is accurate, make it easier for customers to find the programs they’re interested in and will provide the Department with reliable data to ensure that the programs being offered meet the community’s needs. To complete the update, all existing customers are required to create new accounts, including household and contact information. Beginning August 1, customers will need to create a new account online at alexandriava.gov/Recreation or in-person at the Registration & Reservation Office located at the Lee Center, 1108 Jefferson St.

Alexandria residents ages 55 and older are eligible for a 20% discount on all programs. To request the discount, visit the Registration & Reservation Office in-person or call 703.746.5414 prior to registration. Following the establishment of the 20% discount, each subsequent transaction will receive the discount.
