[Archived] Make A Splash: City of Alexandria Announces Upcoming Aquatics Activities for All Ages

For Immediate Release: May 2, 2014 

Department of Recreation, Parks and Cultural Activities offers aquatics activities for all ages, including Family Fun Night at Alexandria’s indoor pool, aquatics programs, and announcement of the upcoming 2014 outdoor pool season.

Dive into Spring at Family Fun Night on Friday, May 16, 7-10 p.m. at Chinquapin Park Recreation Center and Aquatics Facility, 3210 King St. Bring a pool float and the whole family for fun for all ages. Pool games include beach ball relays, water basketball and fun on the floating obstacle course. Celebrate National Water Safety Month with swimming skill assessments for youth, a lifeguard skill demonstration and learning proper lifejacket sizing. Sign-ups for summer camps and Wahoos Youth Swim Team will also be available on-site. Cost of admission is $4 per person. For more information, visit www.alexandriava.gov/c/8437.

Registration is now being accepted and space is still available for Summer aquatics classes for youth and adults, including swimming lessons, aqua aerobics, Lifeguard Training, Swim Team Fundamentals and 2013 Gold Division Champions Wahoos Youth Swim Team.
