[Archived] Project Discovery Walkathon Set for April 26

The 18th Annual Project Discovery Walkathon will be held Saturday, April 26, at Fort Ward Park, 4301 W. Braddock Road, in Alexandria. Registration will take place from 8 to 9 a.m. followed by the opening ceremony and the 3k walk around the park. The event will conclude with a ceremony and awarding of prizes at 10 a.m.

Honorary co-chairs of this year’s walk are Anne and Michael Bland of Bland Management. Amelia Segal, NBC4 TV meteorologist, will serve as emcee.
Project Discovery Alexandria is a college access program that helps students become the first members of their families to attend college or technical school. Through workshops, trips to colleges and enriching experiences, students learn how to achieve educational goals, select a college, manage time, improve study skills and apply for financial aid.
