Fire Marshals Arrest Man After Fire at T.C. Williams High School

On Wednesday, April 2, Alexandria Fire Department Fire Marshals arrested Xavior R. L. Courtney, a 19-year-old Alexandria resident, in connection with a small fire at T.C. Williams High School two days earlier. He has been charged with arson.

Alexandria Fire Department personnel were dispatched to the school, located at 3330 King St., at 10:14 p.m. on Monday, March 31, following reports of a possible fire in a bathroom and activated smoke alarms. On arrival, firefighters found evidence of a small fire in a men’s bathroom. Smoke was still present in the room but the fire had been extinguished. There were no reported injuries and investigators estimate only $50 in damages.

Fire marshals with the Alexandria Fire Department, in conjunction with the Alexandria Police Department, investigated the incident Monday and took Courtney into custody on Wednesday evening.
