[Archived] Police Arrest Man for Multiple Car Thefts

Alexandria Police have arrested Alvin Bell, 57, of Alexandria, in connection to four vehicles stolen from the City of Alexandria, and various other thefts.

Bell was charged with three counts of Grand Larceny Auto, two counts of Grand Larceny with Intent to Sell, and Grand Larceny. Bell stole the vehicles between August and December 2013. Each of the vehicles was stolen when the keys were either left in a running vehicle or in an unlocked car.

The Alexandria Police Department reminds the public to take their keys and lock their vehicles whenever they exit their car, even if it is just for a short time. A car left running can be stolen in under a minute.

Anyone with additional information about this suspect is asked to call the Criminal Investigations Section of the Alexandria Police Department at 703.746.6711.
