[Archived] Parking Adjudication Office to Close December 31

On September 21, the Alexandria City Council voted to close the Parking Adjudication Office, but give vehicle owners an extended time in which to contest parking citations. The Office will close on December 31, 2013.

Vehicle owners who wish to contest a parking citation can begin scheduling hearings directly with the Alexandria General District Court on January 2, 2014. Hearings must be scheduled in advance, and vehicle owners must fill out a District Court Affidavit.

To request a hearing, or for more information about contesting a citation, visit alexandriava.gov/Parking, or call Customer Service at 1.866.353.0454. For questions about payments, or how to pay, visit alexandriava.gov/Payments, or call 703.746.3902.

As part of the adopted Fiscal Year 2014 budget, funding for the Parking Adjudication Office was eliminated, and the parking citation appeal process was shifted back to Alexandria General District Court. Savings of approximately $135,000 from the change are included in the Fiscal Year 2014 budget.
