Alexandria Police Arrest Suspect in Lee Center Burglary

On November 26, Alexandria Police Department detectives arrested Jamar Hunter, 22, of Washington D.C., on one count of Burglary and two counts of Destruction of Property.

Over Labor Day weekend in 2013, the Alexandria Soccer Association office inside the Lee Center, 1108 Jefferson Street, was broken into and money was stolen. On October 19, the Lee Center itself was broken into after a fundraiser was held and money was stolen. On November 22, the Lee Center held another fundraiser. Again, the suspect entered the offices and stole money. Jamar Hunter was identified after the third burglary and arrested.

Hunter was arrested in Washington D.C. on November 26, and extradited to Alexandria on December 3. He was released on a $5,000 bond. His charges relate to the third burglary. Other charges are pending.

Police ask that anyone who has more information about this series of burglaries or the suspect, call Detective Peter Feltham at 703.746.6851.
