City Manager Rashad Young is pleased to announce the appointment of Kevin D. Edwards as the City’s Chief Information Officer and Director of the Department of Information Technology Services.
Edwards brings more than 20 years of experience to the City, with much of that time at federal and local government agencies. He holds a city planning degree from the University of Virginia’s School of Architecture and two advanced technology degrees from the Georgia Institute of Technology. Most recently, Edwards served as Director of Comprehensive Justice Information Systems (CJIS) for Fulton County, Georgia. “We look forward to Kevin’s strong leadership as the City’s Chief Information Officer,” said Young. “He’s a results-oriented leader with a proven record in IT project management and enterprise systems implementation. His expertise in assessing and augmenting IT systems to improve business processes and enhance analytics will help us realize a new course to take full advantage of ever-changing technology.”
Edwards is expected to start work with the City December 1.
