[Archived] Alexandria City Council Eliminates Parking Adjudication Office

The Alexandria City Council voted on Saturday, September 21, to change the City Code by eliminating the Office of Parking Adjudication.  In addition, the time period to contest parking citations has been extended from 10 days to three years, aligning with the time period allotted for appealing City taxes. The office will close after October 17.

As part of the adopted Fiscal Year 2014 budget, funding for the Parking Adjudication Office was eliminated, and the parking citation appeal process was shifted back to Alexandria General District Court. Savings of approximately $135,000 from the change are included in the Fiscal Year 2014 budget.
