[Archived] Department of Recreation, Parks & Cultural Activities Plans 2013 Parks and Recreation Needs Assessment

For Immediate Release: July 1, 2013

The City of Alexandria Department of Recreation, Parks and Cultural Activities is conducting a Park and Recreation Needs Assessment Survey to help establish priorities for the future development of parks, recreation, cultural facilities, programs and services within your community in July 2013. A limited number of Alexandria residents will be selected in a random, but statistically accurate method, to receive this survey. If you receive the survey by U.S. Postal Service it is very important that you participate.

The time invested in completing the survey will aid the City of Alexandria in making decisions that will enrich the future of our community and positively affect the lives of its residents by responding to needs that residents help to identify. With resident input, we will continue to provide and improve vibrant, safe, and attractive parks and facilities for all residents to enjoy.

The City selected Leisure Vision/ETC Institute, an independent consulting company, as our partner to administer this survey. They will compile the data received and present the results to the City in fall 2013. Results will be available to the public online at www.alexandriava.gov/recreation. For additional information on Leisure Vision/ETC Institute, visit www.etciinstitute.com/LV.aspx.

If you have any questions or are interested in taking the survey, but did not receive a copy in the mail, contact Dana Wedeles with the Department of Recreation, Parks and Cultural Activities at 703.746.5491 or dana.wedeles@alexandriava.gov.
