On April 27 at 4:46 a.m. the Alexandria Fire Department responded to a two story residential townhouse in the 1000 block of Oronoco Street for a report of a house fire. Upon arrival, firefighters found fire on the first floor of the townhouse and immediately requested a second alarm. The fire was quickly controlled and was declared extinguished at 5:43 a.m. No occupants were found inside of the home. The structure remains uninhabitable.
The initial investigation has revealed that the fire originated on the first floor. Further information regarding this fire remains under investigation. The fire caused an estimated $750,000 in damage to the building. There were no reported injuries to civilians or first responders.
