[Archived] UPDATE: Alexandria Police Charge Man in Dealership Burglary

Following a lengthy and multi-jurisdictional investigation, Alexandria Detectives have charged a man in a series of car dealership burglaries. Sean Lee Fleming, 39, of no fixed address, was arrested on Wednesday October 24, in Atlantic City, New Jersey with the assistance of the New Jersey State Police. Fleming is being charged with burglary and attempted grand larceny in the June 28 burglary of the Landmark Honda. He is awaiting extradition to Virginia regarding these charges.

Fleming is believed to be connected to a series of regional car dealership burglaries that occurred from February 2012 to October 2012 in the National Capital Region. He may be responsible for over 40 burglaries involving the theft of thousands of dollars from these dealerships. The investigation continues and additional charges are pending.

Alexandria Police Seek Public’s Help Identifying Suspects in Car Dealership Burglaries

Alexandria Police are seeking the public’s help in identifying suspects involved in several car dealership burglaries that have occurred since February of this year. The cases are outlined below.

· February 27, Jack Taylor Toyota, Attempted Burglary: Suspect attempted to pry open a service door with a tire iron. No entry was made to the business.

· March 12, Jack Taylor Toyota, Burglary: Suspect entered business by prying a service door and removed cash from the safe.

· March 31, Jack Taylor Toyota, Burglary: Suspect entered business by unknown means, pried open the safe and removed cash.

· June 2, Jack Taylor Toyota, Burglary: Suspect entered the business, pried open the safe and removed cash.
