[Archived] Alexandria Police Seek Public’s Help Identifying Suspect in Robbery Attempt

Alexandria Police are seeking the public’s help in identifying the suspect involved in the attempted robbery of the Shell Gas Station, located at 4670 Duke Street. On Monday, October 22, at 7:45 a.m., the suspect entered the business, implied he had a weapon and demanded money. The employee fought back and the suspect fled the store without getting any money. He was last on foot heading westbound on Duke Street. The victim was not injured.

The suspect is described as a black male, in his mid-thirties, 5’10” to 5’11”, with a stocky build. He was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and jeans.

Anyone with information about this case or who recognizes the suspect in the surveillance photos is asked to call Detective Sean Casey of the Criminal Investigations Section at 703.746.6853.

Detectives would like to remind citizens that they may remain anonymous.
