[Archived] Spring2ACTion Raises $319,333 for Alexandria Nonprofit Organizations

On May 2, ACT for Alexandria, Volunteer Alexandria, the Alexandria Jaycees, Kids Helping Kids, and the City of Alexandria jointly kicked off Spring for Alexandria, a four-day celebration of giving and service. Spring for Alexandria partners raise hundreds of thousands of dollars to improve the lives of hundreds of Alexandrians.  Spring for Alexandria began on May 2 with Spring2ACTion, an innovative 24-hour online giving event hosted by ACT for Alexandria and ACTion Alexandria.

Spring2ACTion engaged nearly 3,700 citizens who donated $319,333 to more than 70 Alexandria nonprofits in just 24 hours.  Although the goal was to raise $200,000 and engage 2,000 citizens, Spring2ACTion far surpassed that target in just its second year. These funds will help Alexandria charities grow and thrive in the coming year. To learn more about getting involved in Spring for Alexandria, visit http://springforalexandria.org.
