[Archived] MEDIA ADVISORY: City Council and Planning Commission to Hold Joint Work Session on Waterfront Plan

The Alexandria City Council and the Planning Commission will hold a joint work session on Tuesday, January 10, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., to review recommendations from the Waterfront Plan Work Group and discuss possible changes to the City’s draft Waterfront Small Area Plan.

The Mayor-appointed Waterfront Plan Work Group was established in June 2011 following a City Council action that tasked them to: (a) identify areas of consensus under the draft Waterfront Small Area Plan; and (b) to identify, categorize and narrow differences on concerns that residents have raised. The Waterfront Plan Work Group held 15 meetings, from August to December 2011, and released their final report on December 20, 2011. To read the final report, visit https://www.alexandriava.gov/WaterfrontWorkGroup. A hard copy of their report is available in Room 1900 at City Hall, and by Friday, January 6, at all four of Alexandria’s public libraries.

The work session will be held at City Hall, 301 King St., in the second-floor City Council Chambers. It will be broadcast live on Comcast Cable Channel 70 and on the City’s website at alexandriava.gov/Video.
