[Archived] Potomac Yard Development Schedules Construction Work at Potomac Yard Park

As part of the construction of Potomac Yard Park, Potomac Yard Development LLC (PYD), will construct GeoWeb wall systems along the CSX railroad tracks east of Potomac Ave. PYD’s General Contractor, KT Enterprises, will construct the walls and related infrastructure in December 2011 and January 2012.

GeoWeb wall systems will are vegetated walls located throughout the park, and are more prevalent at the park belvederes. Belvederes are interpretive urban plazas that include trellis systems. Trellis systems include large steel piles that will be installed with the GeoWeb walls. The pile driving operation is a limited function that will be done in conjunction with the wall construction. 

During construction, the new Potomac Ave. trail will remain open. As with any construction process, there may be temporary interruptions to services and access. Residents will see equipment in use and crews at work during the daytime.
