Alexandria Police Arrest Suspect Wanted in Multiple Bank Robberies

On Friday September 30, 2011 at approximately 10:30 A.M. officers responded to the SunTrust Bank, located at 3610 King Street for a suspicious person in the lobby of the bank.  Employees at the bank recognized the man as the suspect from an earlier robbery that occurred at the same branch on September 7, 2011.  Officers located the suspect and took him into custody without incident.  No robbery occurred that day.

Michael Briscoe, 43 of Washington, DC was subsequently charged by Alexandria Detectives with the robbery that occurred on September 7 at the SunTrust Bank located at 3610 King Street. 

Further investigation revealed that Briscoe was also a suspect in two bank robberies in Fairfax County.  Detectives in Fairfax have charged Briscoe for a bank robbery that occurred on Tuesday, September 27 at the SunTrust Bank located at 7205 Commerce Street in Springfield.  They also charged Briscoe with another bank robbery that occurred on Friday, September 23 at the Bank of America located at 5707 Seminary Road in the Baileys Crossroad Area.
