[Archived] Veterans Day Program at Alexandria Black History Museum

The Alexandria Black History Museum’s annual Veterans Day program, co-sponsored by the Alexandria Branch of the NAACP, will be held on Friday, November 11, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the museum, 902 Wythe Street. The public is invited to attend this special event honoring and thanking U.S. military personnel, particularly minority veterans.

This year’s program, entitled “Code of Conduct: I Came, I Saw, I Conquered,” is intended to highlight the experience of minorities while serving in uniform. A panel of high-ranking current and retired military officials will explore this theme. Retired Navy Rear Admiral Osie V. Combs Jr., the Executive Vice President for Defense Operations for V-TECH Solutions, and Navy Rear Admiral Sinclair M. Harris who serves in the Chief of Naval Operations staff as the Director, Navy Irregular Warfare Office, will be among those taking part.

This free program also includes music and will be followed by light refreshments. Due to limited seating, reservations are requested but not required. Please call 703.746.4356 for reservations or further details.

The Alexandria Black History Museum, located in the heart of Alexandria’s historic Parker-Gray District, is open from Tuesday through Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
