[Archived] Edgar Allan Poe Halloween Performances at The Lyceum October 30 & 31

Celebrate Halloween in Historic Alexandria with the Master of the Macabre

David Keltz as Edgar Allan PoeThis Halloween season join The Lyceum, Alexandria’s History Museum, for two unforgettable evenings with Edgar Allan Poe, America’s earliest master of the macabre!

Actor David Keltz returns to The Lyceum’s lecture hall on Sunday, October 30, and Monday, October 31, at 8 p.m., to re-create Edgar Allan Poe’s visit to Virginia in 1849, shortly before he died. Keltz performs varying selections each year, but the program always includes a chilling story or two such as “The Black Cat,” “The Cask of Amontillado,” or “The Tell-Tale Heart,” along with well-known poems such as “The Raven” and “El Dorado.”

The event is open to all; however, due to the nature of some material, the program is best suited for ages 12 and up. Tickets cost $15 and may be purchased online at www.alexandriahistory.org by clicking on “Shop” or by calling 703.746.4994. Seating is limited, so advance purchase is highly recommended for this popular event.

The Lyceum is located at 201 South Washington Street in Old Town Alexandria.
