[Archived] Alexandria Police Lieutenant Christopher Wemple III Graduates from FBI National Academy


Lieutenant Christopher Wemple III is the most recent member of the Alexandria Police Department to graduate from the FBI National Academy Program at Quantico, Virginia.
Wemple graduated Friday, September 16, 2011, from the 246th Session and was one of 249 law enforcement officers who graduated from the 10-week program.  The session included men and women from 46 states, 28 countries, three military organizations and five federal civilian organizations.

Wemple is a 20-year veteran of the Police Department.  He began his career in 1991 with the Patrol Operations Bureau as a patrol officer.  He was promoted to sergeant in 1999 and lieutenant in 2003.  He currently serves as a lieutenant in the Internal Investigations Unit of the Investigations Bureau.

Wemple is the 14th member of the Police Department’s command staff to graduate from the FBI National Academy since 1990 and is one of 11 graduates currently serving with the Alexandria Police Department. 


The National Academy Program, held at the FBI Academy in Quantico, offers 10 weeks of advanced investigative, management and fitness training for selected officers having proven records as professionals within their agencies. Training for the program is provided by the FBI Academy instructional staff, Special Agents and other staff members holding advanced degrees, many of whom are recognized internationally in their fields of expertise.
