For Immediate Release: September 7, 2011

The City of Alexandria's Ad Hoc Fort Ward Park and Museum Area Stakeholder Advisory Group will hold its first meeting at the Fort Ward Museum, 4301 W. Braddock Rd. at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, September 14. The Advisory Group was re-established by City Council resolution in June 2011. The group will provide City staff recommendations on the appropriate balance of park uses, as well as implanting education and outreach opportunities and implantation of recommendations made in the 2011 Fort Ward Park and Museum Area Stakeholder Advisory Group report.

The thirteen members of the group were appointed by the City Manager in August 2011 based on their commitment to a balanced, multi-use park and historic site in the City, and are representative of the diversity of interests and uses of the park and museum site. The Advisory Group will be formed for limited duration of 24 months.
