[Archived] Update: August 23 Waterfront Plan Work Group Meeting Cancelled

The Alexandria Waterfront Plan Work Group meeting scheduled for August 23 has been cancelled, because three work group members and Councilman Paul Smedberg, work group convener, will be unable to attend. The next Waterfront Plan Work Group Meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, September 7, from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.  The location for the September 7 meeting will be announced.

To date, the Work Group has held two meetings, on July 27 and August 10. Materials from those meetings are available at alexandriava.gov/WaterfrontWorkGroup along with a meeting schedule, meeting videos and other information pertaining to the Work Group and its mission.

The Mayor-appointed Waterfront Plan Work Group was established pursuant to a City Council action to: (a) identify areas of consensus under the draft Waterfront Small Area Plan; and (b) to identify, categorize and narrow differences on concerns that residents have raised.  The Work Group is anticipated to report back to the City Council this fall.   All meetings are open to the public. Public comment is invited at the meetings and may also be submitted online.

For questions relating to the Work Group, please contact Nancy J. Williams at 703.746.4666. Media inquiries should be directed to Jennifer Harris, Communications Officer, Office of Communications and Public Information at jennifer.harris@alexandriava.gov or the Media Hotline at 703.746.3969.
