[Archived] Pershing Ave. Closed at Telegraph Rd. for Approximately Two Months

Motorists urged to use alternate routes to avoid delays

As of Friday, August 5, the Woodrow Wilson Bridge Project has closed westbound Pershing Avenue in the Eisenhower Valley of Alexandria.  During this closure, motorists will not be able to take Pershing Avenue to Telegraph Road North toward Duke Street.  The closure will last approximately two months while construction crews build the new Pershing Avenue approach to Telegraph Road in accordance with the widened Telegraph Road bridge over the railroad tracks.

Detours:  Motorists can either take Stovall Street North to right on Mill Road to left on Eisenhower Avenue to the traffic circle to Holland Lane to Duke Street, or take Stovall Street South to left on Eisenhower Avenue to the traffic circle to Holland Lane to Duke Street.  There will be detour signs posted in the area.

Please use caution when traveling in this area. All construction-related work and dates are subject to change, depending on weather, material and contractor availability or other unforeseen conditions.
