[Archived] Chinquapin Wahoos Swim Team Completes Successful 2011 Season

For Immediate Release: August 3, 2011

The Chinquapin Wahoos, a summer swim team coordinated by the City of Alexandria Department of Recreation, Parks and Cultural Activities, finished in third place in the Colonial Swim League, marking the first winning season for the team in more than a decade. 
 
At the Gold Divisional Swim Meet on Saturday, July 24, the Wahoos 8 & under Boys, 8 & under Girls and 11-12 Girls walked away with first place in their age groups against five other CSL Gold Division teams including Arlington Knights of Columbus, Glen Cove, Chase Club, Saratoga and Sugarland Run. Other notable achievements for the 2011 season include:
