In response to a White House initiative to support small business development, the U.S. Department of State is sponsoring a free conference and expo for small business contractors to learn more about opportunities for domestic and overseas contracts. Attendees will attend workshops to increase their understanding of United States Department of State bureaus, offices and programs. The afternoon session offers networking opportunities to meet with program office representatives, contracting officers, and large prime contractors for informal discussions about the types of goods and services that are purchased by the U.S. Department of State.
The program will open with a general session that includes remarks by White House Senior Policy Advisor in the Office of Public Engagement Bibi Hidalgo, and keynote addresses by U.S. State Department Undersecretary for Management, Patrick F. Kennedy and City of Alexandria Mayor, Bill Euille. Participants will learn about doing business with U.S. Department of State offices and bureaus and have an opportunity to network with U.S. Department of State program office representatives, contracting officers and invited prime contractors.
