[Archived] House Fire Sends One Occupant to Hospital

WHEN:           June 9, 2011

WHERE:        212 Adams Avenue

WHO:            Alexandria Fire Department

WHAT:                       At approximately 3:28pm on June 9, units from the Alexandria Fire Department assisted by units from the Arlington County and Fairfax County Fire Departments responded to a house fire at 212 Adams Ave.  Units arrived on the scene within 5 minutes of dispatch to find smoke coming from a second floor window in a single family home. The fire, which originated in a bedroom, was quickly extinguished. The cause of the fire was determined to be accidental and caused approximately $25,000 in damages. Two occupants that were in the home at the time of the fire were treated on the scene by paramedics. One occupant was taken to Alexandria Hospital for further evaluation.
