For Immediate Release: June 10, 2011

The Alexandria Park and Recreation Commission will host the City’s Aquatic Master Planning consultants and receive an update on their progress at their June 16 regular meeting.  The meeting will be held at 7 p.m. at the Samuel Tucker Elementary School, located at 435 Ferdinand Day Drive.

There will be a presentation from the consultants on present progress and findings to date, followed by comments and questions from the Commission. The public is welcome to attend to see the presentation.

The consultants, Kimley-Horn and Associates and Counsilman-Hunsaker have been contracted by the City of Alexandria’s Department of Recreation, Parks & Cultural Activities to provide an assessment and analysis of the City’s aquatics facilities and to determine future strategies for meeting residents’ aquatics needs.
