The Alexandria Waterfront Committee will hold its annual Waterfront Walk on Saturday, June 4 at 9 a.m. The walk will begin at the bulkhead in Windmill Hill Park, 501 S. Union St., and continue north along the Waterfront to Oronoco Bay Park.
This annual event provides Committee members the opportunity to assess operational conditions and issues along the Waterfront. This year's walk will review potential changes to the Waterfront core area outlined in the Waterfront Small Area Plan.
In addition, the Waterfront Committee has scheduled a workshop to discuss the Waterfront Small Area Plan on Thursday, May 26. The workshop will be held in the Chet and Sabra Avery Conference Room, City Hall Room 2000, 301 King St. at 4 p.m.
Established by City Council in 1989, the Alexandria Waterfront Committee’s purpose is to study and deal with issues relating to private and commercial uses of the waterfront. The Committee is composed of 15 members who represent a particular neighborhood, community or City committee. The Waterfront Committee meets the third Tuesday of each month at 7:30 a.m. in Room 2000 of City Hall, 301 King St.
